Harmony College 2025 has been re-imagined to bring you an even more enriching and inspiring experience! While the final class schedule is still being fine-tuned, we are excited to share some key updates about what you can expect during the weekend.

Chorus Time

Sing in a dynamic chorus led by the incomparable Jordan Travis! With an impressive track record as Director of A Cappella Showcase (2019 Harmony Inc. Gold Medallist Chorus), Director of Harbourtown Sound, and former Associate Director of the BHS award-winning Toronto Northern Lights Chorus, Jordan will bring invaluable insights and inspiration. Whether you sing chorus regularly or are a passionate quartet singer, you’ll leave with fresh ideas and renewed energy for your own musical journey.

Your Free Choice of Classes

When not singing in the chorus, you will have the opportunity to customise your experience by selecting from a diverse range of classes. Just as in Harmony College 2023, you’ll be able to choose sessions that align with your musical aspirations. Whilst we are still finalising the full faculty lineup, we are excited to confirm a dedicated series of Quartet and Directing classes designed to refine your skills and deepen your understanding of the craft. Stay tuned for further details as we unveil the full programme!

New Quartet Skills Classes

We’ve designed an exciting and immersive new learning experience to take your quartet skills to the next level. Whether you’re in an existing Quartet or want the experience of singing in Quartet with lots of new people, this is for you!

  • Individual & Group Participation: While sign up will be done individually, existing Quartets and groups are welcome. These groups have dedicated time for tailored activities during the programme.
  • Core Songs & Vocal Flexibility: Participants will work on three common songs (a Ballad, an Uptune, and one other). Songs will be chosen to suit various vocal ranges and will be able to be transposed to better fit specific singer groupings.
  • Expert Coaching: Faculty comprises skilled Quartet singers who provide part-specific coaching for Tenors, Leads, Baritones, and Basses, as well as direct coaching of Quartets/groups. Sessions include both theoretical and practical techniques.
  • Performance Practice & Showcasing: Singers rotate through different Quartet lineups, refining phrasing, musicality, and discovering unique sounds. The programme concludes with an optional showcase or contest for Quartets.

The Quartet Skills programme above consists of four of your free choice classes but in addition to these core sessions, you can take part in optional classes such as:

  • Repertoire Selection & Rehearsals: Guidance on choosing appropriate songs, considering ranges and Quartet/Group makeup (SSAA, TTBB, SATB). Workshops cover productive rehearsal strategies, whether local, remote, or online.
  • Building Successful Quartets/Groups: Workshops focus on forming and maintaining lasting Quartets through shared goals, location considerations, auditioning, and selecting compatible members.

Directing Skills Sessions

If you’ve ever thought about directing, now is the perfect time to give it a go! With two dedicated Directing Skills sessions included in your free choice classes, you’ll have the chance to develop your conducting technique—whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced director looking for expert feedback. These sessions also serve as excellent preparation for Directors’ Academy 2026, which will offer a Foundations in Directing stream tailored for those starting their directing journey.
