We are incredibly excited about the first ever BABS livestream – what better time to allow people around the world experience a glimpse into our convention than the 50th anniversary!
We do however need your help and assistance to ensure that everything goes as planned – we need passionate and knowledgeable barbershoppers to be the hosts of the livestream itself. They’ll need to chat and discuss the contests between groups, give interesting insights to our viewers (who may not know about these groups, their history, past contests etc), interview some of our guest groups and other key figures in BABS past and present history, and just make the livestream as entertaining and engaging as possible!
We’ll need volunteers to do slots of between 1-2 hours on the livestream, and we can work around peoples schedules to avoid causing issues with their contest preparation etc.
We also need volunteers to run an area where all Quartets, Chorus reps and other convention attendees can come and have media interviews after they’ve competed, sing us a tag or song of their choosing, share their favourite memories of BABS conventions of the past, or anything else you might think of! These will be recorded throughout the weekend and many will be edited there and then and included in the livestream itself to better give viewers a sense of what else is happening outside the contest arena. We’ll also be using these recordings to create an archive video of the weekend which will include as much as we can from as many people as possible!
Again, volunteers would need to give an hour or two to ask questions, run the simple video setup (instructions and batteries included!) and even be a roving reporter to find the nooks and crannies of the convention centre where all the best tags happen!
